The wood of la Motte
This Espace Naturel Sensible, managed by the department, is a wood of 22 hectares, crossed by wooden alleys. Nearby, there is the lovely little pond of la Croix-Madame.

The bois de la Motte is situated at the village’s gate, in direction of Saint-Étienne-en-Coglès.
This wood is an old coppice forest, full of beech trees. It’s a natural area open to the public who wishes to discover quietly fauna and flora of that kinf of wood.
A proximité, un superbe châteaux du XVIIème siècle le château de la Motte (propriété privée visible depuis les sentiers de randonnée) et l’étang de la Croix-Madame, ouvert aux pêcheurs, entouré d’un autre bois où se trouvent de nombreux chaos granitiques.
Nearby, a 17th superb chateau : the Chateau de la Motte (private property, visible by hiking paths) and the pond of La Croix-Madame, open to fishermen, surrounded by another wood punctuad by some blockfields of granite.

The wood of la Motte is open all year along.
A car park is located in the locality “La Crois Madame”, just near of the pond. It offers an access to the wood of la Motte by a secure path dedicated to walkers and cyclists. You’ll find some benchs, the place can be ideal for a improvised picnic.
